Diff Guru's!~ Anyone identify this LSD carrier?
I have my car at the transmission shop and they are telling me this is not fitting in the housing.
When purchased I was told it was from a JZS161 Aristo... there for should be plug an play with my diff housing?
Can anyone confirm this by these pictures of it in this thread....?

Thank you for you help.

I hear what i though was a rumor that from 04-05 their may have been a different housing used?
Can anyone confirm or deny this?

UPDATE:
I have been doing a TON of research in the last couple of days. Long Long story short..
The diff was the same unit until 2\03. Lexus then changed the design to the one I have (2004 and above).
Essential my diff is the same as the Gen3 GS430.
This new design is NOT compatible with the MK4.
I can order a TOM's unit which is the ONLY unit designed for the 3rd gen GS.. but not at $2,200.

OR i can get a 98-02 diff.
Thoughts?

Wow, that is a bummer to hear. I think sourcing a 98-02 GS400 differential would be the cheapest route to go. I guess my only questions would be is if the driveshaft flange is the same, and if there is any difference in mounting locations for the bolts. Too bad you weren't local to me, as I have an extra GS300 differential.

Bolt and mounting locations are identical. From what i can tell.. they just omitted the recesses on each side to angel in the larger LSD carrier.
I guess from a technical stand point Toyota thought it not necessary in a car that never offered a factory LSD unit??
Yea.. i agree. I ordered one from Euro Chop Shop.
Got it for $260 shipped out of a 99, your right.. I wish i was local!
Thank you for the offer!
