Default What tool holds the harmonic damper still during install?

OTC has a tool but I read that many people keep bending or snapping it before the job is done. Obviously not heavy duty enough to handle up to 200ft lbs. Ive seen some home made tools but I have no tools or spare metal to fab a tool from scratch. So what are my options for holding the harmonic damper still for reinstall?

Help is appreciated because this is the last thing holding me up from getting my timing belt done.

i find it helpul using a crowbar to lock the trans flywheel accessible underneath the car at the rear of the oil pan-just remove the rubber inspection cover and you'll see the flywheel.

The best thing is a Schley tool. I went ahead a sprung for one when I changed my timing belt. I thought that was better than risking ruining the flywheel. Here is a link.

This is how I've always done it when I need to use a breaker bar to break the bolt loose. The correct tool for this job is the Toyota Tool. It's expensive but very well worth it.

Get the schley tool. It's only like $70. I have used it probably over 100 times. Still works as well as new. I have snapped the breaker bars and this tool doesn't even blink.

That looks perfect. I didnt want to argue with help but jamming up the flexplate teeth to torque down 180ft lbs seemed sketchy at best.
