Default Low idle on my 2001 gs300

Hey everyone, I recently just purchased a burnished gold GS300 and it runs great. It will definitely need the timing belt replaced. When I'm coming to a stop or I do stop at a light or whatever, it idles lower than 500rpms and wants to die but I keep the A/C on, it prevents it from dying. Also when I hit the gas again it's sluggish or unresponisve. I've read through many threads trying to find out what the problem is and have not found anything.

Thank you guys in advance.

No it's not on, I'll check into the ocv threads. I'm hoping it's nothing major.

So I went to autozone and the codes P0171 and P0174 came up.

List of possible causes:
System too lean - bank 2 portable
Lean air/fuel ratio- fuel injectors or vaccuum leak
MAF sensor concern
ECT sensor fault
Faulty H02s bank 2

Any advice or info would be great. Thank you.

When those codes pop up, that's means you have a vacuum leaking somewhere . You need to check all hoses. Most of the time the hoses are brittle due to old age.

You have a vacuum leak.
If you have an engine cover take it off and have a look.
Look for loose, cracked or broken hoses; also check for cracks in the intake tube that go to the throttle body.

Wow guys, guess how stupid I feel? There were two quarter sized holes on my intake right before it meets the throttle body.. I just duct taped it up and BOOM. CEL is off. Cars no longer in limp mode. Sorry for the stupidity.

Thanks for the help everyone.

You can get inexpensive hoses from autozone. Take it off and have them match it. That tape is not a permanent fix. Good luck.

Yeah I know, but it's not an actual hose, it's the actual intake that's made of plastic. I'll try and post a picture

That's strange. Looks like you're missing an evap hose, too.

Yeah I know. I'm still pretty stumped on how two holes would end up right there. And I knew something was missing, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
