Anyone notice any issues in the -20F or colder weather this past week?

Mine seems to do fine save trans seems to have a 3000 rpm stall when below -5 or so. I am told that is normal, it hasn't' hurt it, it is annoying for the first time you get it going, but as soon as it is moving seems to get to normal very quickly.

It got down to -10 in my area and the car peformed just fine. Started right up, albeit a little slower than normal. No issues whatsoever with squeaks/rattles which really impressed me as this is my first winter with my GS and other cars typically had these issues in extreme cold. I do have a new battery in the car, which I'm sure helped with starting.

It was -25 in mn last week, -60 with windchill, car started first turn, some squeaks and stuff, took a min for steering to loosen up fully, but drove fine, just a little Rougher than normal, but a lot of people's cars didn't start at all.

Had no issues with the 300 started and ran like a champ steering Lil tight at first other than that cars good ..

When I had my 400 and it was cold tranny acted up if I didn't let it fully warm up never had any starting issues..

My GS430 has done fairly well. I live in PA, USA. The coldest I've drive it in was around -10 degrees around 3 am leaving my job. Never had any problems starting up or anything. Yeah it kind of sounded hesitant when I hit the switch but it turned on every time like a champ! I'm buying a brand new Die Hard Platinum battery tomorrow morning. Just to keep it in better shape. All I can say to anyone who does savage things like driving the car cold, WARM IT UP!!!! Let it just sit for 20 mins... YES 20 MINS.... And let the fluids circulate guys. These cars are getting old so the least we can do is PROPERLY WARM THEM. Treat it right, and it will never leave you STRANDED IN THE COLD.....

My mechanic, who is a master certified Lexus tech, said you actually don't need to warm a car up for 10-20 mins. He said a couple mins is fine as long as you drive it gently and slowly when you get going. Something about the fluids circulating better when the car is moving. Not sure if that is the general opinion here, but it hasn't hurt me yet with the Lexus vehicles I have owned.

In here it's stated by law that you're not allowed to keep the motor running for more than 2min. After that you either get going or turn the engine off.
No one really obeys that law and who the hell would even be on the watch on that, not the police that's for sure and they couldn't even care less.
But the problem comes with remote start systems because if you want it to pass inspections you'd have to have it installed so that it doesn't run the motor for more than 2min. Makes the whole remote start thing pretty useless in the wintertime.

My 430 has worked fine though we haven't had more than -10 celcius (-14F) here, which is weird considering the geographical location.
Some little squeaks here and there but nothing too serious.

Can't wait to have some more snow to go sideways.

Everybody can follow they're own protocol. I'll warm mines up all the way and drive it carefully lol. It's mine so I gotta try to make that investment last as much as I can.

Makes sense. Do whatever you are comfortable with. Certainly doesn't hurt to warm the car up extra.

The way I look at it is this... cars are like humans in a way. Cars need to be warmed up properly in harsh weather. The same way a human would need to stretch out if he/her were to wake up for a run 5 am in harsh weather. You wouldn't wanna just get up, get dressed, and start running. YOU CAN but if you care about your body (...car) you'll properly stretch (warm up) before initiating in any physical strain (driving). Some call me silly but I love my car man. And in this PA weather, I do whatever to keep the running comfortably and in condition. Tryna make those $13k stretch out as long as I can!
