Car has been running perfectly since replacing fuel pump on Saturday. Positive that was the issue.

Got the car back on Tuesday and so far the new throttle position sensor seems to be what the doctor ordered.

Badazzz - I see you replaced the pedal position sensor, but what about the throttle position sensor? It's my understanding they are two different sensors. The problem you describe, especially including that hot weather makes it worse, sounds so similar to what was wrong with my car I’d say the TPS might be your best bet. Cost was about $350 for the sensor and labor. Hope this helps.
