Default Should I Settle On This GS400?

**Sorry if this is in the wrong section**

Anyways, i need some advice, I am seriously looking around the Midwest region for a Lexus GS400. Here are my wants:

Black Ext. Tan Int.
Gold Emblems (not a need)
Rear Spoiler
Under $10k (preferably) --- Extremely Low Mileage Budget : $12k
Under 135k Mileage

The car i am looking at is real nice and has everything i want on it including the gold emblems but its well over my mileage needs, and im iffy on going as high on 135k anyways. The car has 146k miles. I have heard many good things about this cars life span, but still not sure if i should go for it. The price is $6,995

Should i wait for a better deal with my wants, or jump in on this deal?

Thanks,
Zach

I'd look for one with lower miles, but maintenance history makes all the difference.

In my opinion, if the car is in GREAT condition, in and out, I would buy it. If you're concerned about the engine, i'd drop the car off at an engine shop and tell them to rebuild it to restore brand new compression; this will prob cost $2k or so, you will still be under your overall budget. Or, if you want to push the envelope, contact the vendor Lextreme. They make high performance short blocks for our cars from mild to wild stages...these start at $4k...just need to get a mechanic to install. You'll have MUCH more power over stock with this setup and things will be new. You're still under budget. Again, all this only if everything else is in mint condition and in proper working order, if this is not met it isn't worth dumping money into it, then keep looking.

Remember, the exterior can be re-conditioned/paint correction by an expert detailer and can come out mint, but you must be able to see the hidden potential in the paint...you dont want to spring for a new paint job after all this. Good luck!

I say always wait out for exactly what you want. I bought a 99 with less then 135k but in reality your looking at a

13-14 year old car ( you never said what year you were looking at) so around that mileage is going to be the

average. only pull the trigger when you find the one that says this is it and you won't regret your purchase

Op I do agree with getting exactly what you want. But don't be mislead by the mileage number. You might find a car with low mileage but that doesn't mean it will be in a better condition than one with a slightly higher mileage. If you do pass on the one you are looking at now you might not find exactly what you're looking for. But in the end it is your decision and you will be the one living with the outcome.
