PCV Valve
So I noticed my PCV valve was looking funky. It was leaning hard towards the fire wall. I figured i would replace it and the grommet. After reading up on these on the forum, it says your suppose to change them once a year. Had no idea.
Oh yea, careful with those pesky grommets. So old it was breaking apart. Then just fell inside. Upset at first but nothing the needle nose cant handle and some patience.

Once a year seems excessive to me, unless you have other problems with your engine system that cause it to become easily contaminated (like not changing your oil).
True it is only a $5 part, so do as you will..
I'd put a more reasonable interval maybe 30 or 60k, or align it with any of your other major service.
Did you notice any difference after the change? Like Idle?

I think it does runs a bit better but i also changed the oil and spark plugs. I agree with you, once a year is a bit much unless it's damaged like mine was.
