Steering Wheel Gone Wrong!
This is a follow up on my previous thread.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...heel-swap.html
Well I was able to convince the guy to sell me the steering wheel with the airbag for a good price. Now my car has gray interior. A two tone with a dark gray and light gray color. From what the guy said, the steering wheel is a gray color but he was not able to get me a pic of it. So I had my brother drive out to his place to verify the condition and color of the steering wheel. From his view, he said it is a gray color and he even sent me a pic (attached). From the picture, it even looks gray unless I'm color blind. However, I made the purchase and received the steering wheel yesterday. Guess what? The damn steering wheel is actually a tan color. Dammit!!!! The wheel kind of matches my interior but I'm a picky bastard. Now my question is should I dye it to match my interior, keep it the way it is and bolt it on, or just sell it? This really sucks but yeah everyone's input will be appreciated.

So your brother F...ed Up...
I dont think you can dye plastic
I dont think there was ever a grey wheel, ive only seen black and tan. Black is what goes with the grey interior..
Never the less we are not mind readers and have no clue what your interior looks like.. sell it and get another one

Difference is the nice dove grey in a "grey interior" as opposed to the ugly secondary greyish color they use on the tan interiors. Which i have and i honestly hate that color. Dye wont work. Trust me i tried to dye my dash and it doesnt soak into the material lexus uses. And yes i have dyed leather / vinyl before. I would love a nice steering wheel with woodgrain but seems such a PITA to solve. Theres probably 400 threads on it

That is correct sakatj. This wheel came off a '01 RX300 that's why it has a lighter tan color to it. I'll explore that avenue of dying. See what they say and how much more it will sink my wallet.
