Just picked up my 2000 GS400 Millennium Edition. It is currently sitting at 157740 km (98015 miles). It came with Tein Street Advance coilovers, Tanabe Medalion exhaust, and LED tail lights. First thing I'm going to be taking care of is a timing belt change and I also picked up Moog front outer tie rod ends and lower ball joints as it seems to be a common issue with the 2nd Gen GS. Upcoming plans with this car include getting the OEM double din dash kit and a screen installed with a rear view camera.

Yeah I'll check it out when I get a chance and hopefully make it out for some of these meets.
Dropped in an aFe Pro-5R Oiled Air Filter a couple days ago... can't really feel any difference from a butt-dyno but hopefully I'll get a little better fuel economy. I'll try to do a data comparison between my old OEM filter vs the aFe using my OBD-II software's HP and Torque data to see if that will give me any useful data to compare. Now all I gotta do is swap out the OEM intake pipe with something like a Joe-Z or maybe I can try to use some universal intake piping to rig something up. I've heard doing that with a drop in filter like this aFe should give us around 5HP? Anyone have thoughts or suggestions one that?
i have never heard anything good about an oiled filter...all they do is clog up sensors and dirty throttle bodies. better to just buy an actual intake than "rig" something up imho

I don't use them. but if you do some research you will find similar experiences. And please explain to me how I am doing it wrong....they are drop in filters?

WELL some research will say that,but i had a K & N for years till i did my SRT intake with 0 issues and was always adamant about that, when he says your doing it wrong he is saying if your having issues with them clogging sensors and such then people are over oiling them when they clean them and thats whats causing the issue

that makes sense. but I still dont see the point of having an oiled filter.
Definitely a nice post..... Can't believe its 15yrs already.
