Default Projector Lights on 02 Lexus

Hey fellas, new member here, with my simple question. Looking at some aftermarket headlights for my LEX. But all the ones I have seen say "not for gs300 with factory HID's." Does that mean HID's will not work with the housing or that means that it won't fit gs300 with HID's already in them

it won't fit gs300 with HID's already in them. The ebay projector headlights come with an hid kit with re-based bulbs. The harness is made to fit halogen ones. If your GS has factory HID's then you have d2r bulbs.

If you have factory halogen bulbs 9006 is your low beam and 9005 is your high beam.

You should just do it right and do a retro fit. Wont look cheap and be REAL projectors with proper output and cutoff.

just sayin.

Is there anyway to redo the harness to fit stock hid's.

After thinking about it... If you can find which wire from the factory harness going IN to the ballast is power and ground, you can buy some pin terminals to stick in there and run a wire from there to aftermarket kit. Seal the harness all up though when done.

Or better yet, find someone with burnt oem ballasts and cut the harness off of them and make your OWN plug and play harness for the aftermarket kit

I would love to see what 20,000 volts would do to a halogen bulb LoL

I retro fitted gs400 green tints into my 98. the factory bulbs were ds2's.....but regardless, you can hook up a ebay HID kit to them. get a relay kit too. YOu will loose self leveling, but if you aim them I don't think you will even notice. Dont get the ebay projectors tho.....the cutoff is terrible.....and IMO I dont care for the "rice" rings.......Egads!!
