Intermittent rough idle 2002 GS300
Hi, I have an 02 GS300 with a intermittent rough idle issue. Only seems to do it when when I'm braking to a full stop then the idle drops, car shakes and idles back to 600. I have replaced 3xcoils Toyota, spark plugs NGK laser iridium, spark plug wires, valve cover gasket/spark plug oil seals and throttle position sensor. I cleaned the throttle body with a dry towel and did a MAF sensor cleaning. I still haven't resolved the issue and I'm running out of ideas. Any help would be much appreciated.

Turn your head lights to the first on position ... I think it sort of fires up the DRLs, but they're on 24-7 anyhow. Regardless, this first position draws a hair mor electrical current than the off position and solves the low idle. Let me know!

No sprays on the towel. I learned my lesson from blowing out the idle air valve out of the throttle body. As of right now no CEL's.

Yes I also noticed this... When driving with the headlights on it doesn't seem to do it. I tested it in the daytime when the idle was acting funny and it bump my idle up... What does this mean?

This seems to be a REALLY common thing with 2nd gen GS
Are your battery terminals tight to the posts? If they move by hand even a tiny bit try to tighten them down and recheck. Replace them if they still move. I tend to stray away from the big heavy lead or brass terminals because if you ever change batteries, they may or may not be too big/small for the battery post. I use ones like these:
I can't say for sure if this will fix your problem, but it's what worked for me. My car actually did stall a few times in freeway traffic haha. Not fun!
