Default 6sick6: Molding what kind of fog lights in to a 2GS front bumper???

Hey guys. I just wanted to share a lil project ive been workin on for a fellow CL member on his GS. If any of you have seen my threads before, you know I work as a painter at a body shop in AZ. Anyways...heres what we've got....we want to mold 2003-2009 RX350 fog lights into a 2GS front bumper. CRAZY? Oh yes so here we go!

The new gs bumper with the used rx bumper

Starting to cut out the bumpers

test fitting

i cut a piece out of a random bumper i had laying around(the silver piece), to fit inbetween the grill area

I used a 2 part bonding epoxy made for most automotive plastics

oh, were also shaving the side marker

looks great!! i loved it until i saw the front lip added... that curved notch that curved around the oem fog lights no longer matches.. and now throws the whole thing off.. if you sanded the point down to run smoothly with the new fog lights, it would look a million times better!

i immediately thought the same thing....also why are the fogs so sunken?

overall, B+ for effort/creativity but i think that lip really kills it

This is EXACTLY what we thought when we put it together so we might change that lip a bit. We were on a real time crunch getting it done before sema.

Thanks for all the kind words guys! It's nice to hear pos or neg feedback too since it was a new project.

The fog lights are recessed more since the rx fog light housing was added to the back side of the gs bumper. It then had to be built up with polyester putty and bondo to make it all flush

That looks like a JDM Toyota front lip. If it is I'll buy it before you try to modify it.

I like the way the fogs sit just not the lip. It takes away from all the work you did on the bumper

That is outstanding work! It really turned out great. I was gonna suggest the same thing about the lip but I think the message has already came across.
