when mine was misfiring it was the coil packs or wires on the spark plugs. Check the spark plugs/wires/coil packs or whatever they are called. When the guy changed my spark plug wires one of them wasnt installed correctly and caused misfiring and a CEL but I cant remember the code. Bad O2 sensors can cause misfiring also, but somene correct me if I am wrong. what does your CEL say?

If you getting missfire codes, I would suspect leaky valve cover gaskets as well. The oil has saturated the plug boots and possibly gotten to the coil packs. Once they start going south, you will get have unburnt fuel being pushed into the cats since the spark did not happen inside the combustion chamber during dwell time. The fuel/air pulled into the cylinder has to go somewhere even though it never combusted so its then shot out into the cat...only to burn there...and create the egg smell and a bad converter if not fixed in a timely manner.

You can have bad cats without any sort of pungent smell in your exhaust.

In this case, I would correct any ignition issues before proceeding with a cat replacement. If the valve cover gaskets have leaked and filled up the spark plug wells with oil then fix them first along with a good set of plugs/boots/wires and your issues will most likely go away after a full tank of prem fuel. I found out what was the problem with my baby.

The clamp cover the crack on the air hose. That also make a different codes. One of the code is P0430.

So, check you air hose too on your intake manifold area.

That crack sure looks fresh, like it cracked when the hose was removed.

First, I always I try to keep my engine as clean as possible. But that hose was the OEM and had never touched before. The front hose of the PCV and PCV Valve I had installed a few minutes before when I take the pictures, because I thought that was the problem on my car. ( The PCV and the Valve). That why on both pictures, the both hoses look the same color and condition. But, again I never touch that air house before and the other true is; I will pray to God after install the PCV hose and te PCV Valve and I took me up to this hose that was the problem and hesitation on my car for like 8 month. Also, I was tired to try to found out was that wrong with the car. I need to finish to say, GOD was and is alway my TOP Mechanic.

I driving my car for a few days and no code or any code show up. Again, check your air hose on the intake manifold. You need to touch each one. Your car have like 3 to 4 air hoses in that area, check all please.
Also, all the low power that I fill before on my car, come back. I make a few burn out. Nothing crazy, just to fill the power on that 2JZ engine. Heyyyyyy :woot: I do not want to forget that God was the one that were addressed to me towards the problem of broken hose. He is the best, amen. :woohoo:
