Default Engine Conversion/ Imobilizer Issue?

Yo dudes..
I'm building a GS300 with a 1jzgte & R154.. Most the work is done and it's just finishing off stuff...

Problem im having is that I'm not getting power to instrument cluster, starter signal, fuel pump, etc..
The cluster has some power, because when you pull the high beams the little blue symbol lights up.. But there is no backlight etc...

Iv spliced the 1jz engine loom into the car loom, it starts and runs if done by contacting the starter cable on the battery...

Iv removed so much wiring from the loom so I'm not sure if there's something immobiliser related stopping it power up, or if it's something in my wiring. It's all the ABS, TRC, airbags, etc that iv removed.

If someone knows if there's a relay or something that is contoled by the imob so I can effectively bypass it, that would be great. Probilly best to pm details so it's not public knowledge to protect security.

Many thanks

Your issue isn't the immobilizer. It is only a problem if you use a 160/161 engine ecu with immobilizer function. The cars key transponder and the ecu in the cabin that holds the flashed codes will have no effect on any ecu used that is not a 160/161.

Even if the immobilizer was intact it does not cause the symptoms you describe. The dash and all functions work 100% still when being immobilized, the engine will just crank and crank and crank but never turn over is what happens.

You have a wiring problem. Best you can do is go over everything your removed and/or spliced and work backwards from there.

Good Luck, hope you get it sorted out and post up some pics!!

^ second that. You have it dead on.

In case others search and have immobolizer issues. Defeating immobolizer function is not possible. The immobolizer ecu and engine ecu talk to each other so its not a simple matter of jumpering a wire or by passing a relay.

Awesome.. Thanks guys.. I can concentrate my efforts elsewhere on why it's not powering up.. Must be something iv cut..

And yeah, the imob is built into the ECU, I found a Pinout of the imob part but it's missing most the info on most the pins so not much good..

Really can't work out why I'm not getting power.. The cars body part of the loom isn't working properly..
Few questions..

Where does the power for instrument cluster illumination come from?

Iv connected the engine looms Starter Motor wire to the Cars Starter motor wire and I'm not getting anything?
Why isn't this pin powering up?

Iv got random parts working, like Headlights, Hazard Lights, Interior lights,
No Rear Lights, Indicators, Ignition, etc..

I have the ECU for my '04 GS300 engine, but no key. I'm doing a swap into another chassis (Supra). What do I need to do to get this ECU to work?

Get another Lexus key/fob and have the ECU flashed/reprogrammed, then tape that key to the ECU or get the signal to it somehow?

2004 GS300's immo system is engine/trans control ECU and external amp+antenna (single device) located on ignition barrel. Transponder (chip) located inside key is texas instruments 4c. You don't need complete key, just a chip.

To program such a chip into your ECU, soldering job is ultimately needed. Immo system can't be reset by diagnostic scanner like this is done on newer Toyotas.

I have a solution for immo bypass just in case you don't find any help locally

I'd love to know... I did get another VVTi harness/ECU from a 98 supra (no immobilizer). However, that leaves me w/spare ECU/harness (w/immobilizer - no key).

I thought about opening ECU and soldering/jumpering, but now worthwhile since I have the other combo. Still, I may get another motor and would love to be able to use/reuse what I have on hand.

THANKS!!
