Strange beeping every 15 or so minutes..?

Strange beeping every 15 or so minutes..?
I have a 1998 GS400, and tonight it started beeping (as in the same beep you here when you lock or unlock the doors). It happens about every 15 minutes. 
I checked all my doors, sunroof, etc. Everything is closed and locked.
The battery in my key has been dying so I had been locking my door by actually turning the key in the door for the last few weeks. And I let my SO use my car and she used the keyless entry....don't know if that would make any difference..
