I have the Nak radio in my car but have an extra stock radio somewhere as well. the stock radio should just plug and play where the Nak radio is currently right? if so i'll take apart my stock one and try this diy out.

The Nak radio is actually quite different from the Pioneer radio. It's not plug 'n play.

I'm also wondering if this method uses the same sensitivity as the FM band in the stock radio. In most stereos that I've seen you have much higher sensitivity on the CD input, thus yielding better sound quality.

But since it's a direct connection, maybe that's irrelevant. Percy, or Engine Ear would know better than I.

FM < Tape Adapter < CD input. Just food for thought.

BTW, I'm using PureDrifter's method, and I don't even need a CD in the changer to use it's input, let alone one upside down.

Did yours have a board on the top tray?! Compare OP HU with the face off and mines. That's why my Project DIY aux was put on hold. Looks like the same HU so I dunno.

I may do this very soon. How's the sound quality? As good as listening to a CD?

Sound quality is the same as CD because its a direct connection to the circuit board. The only thing i have noticed is that depending on your phone or your Ipod, you have to turn the volume down or the input level is too high causing a little static.

My head unit is the Pioneer from my 99 GS300. I haven't taken apart any other unit because I dont have any other ones. So I'm not sure where to solder to those other ones.

If you don't have the tuner board like mine, look to see where the FM antenna plugs into the back of yours and trace it from there.

Looks good. That's where I put my plug also. Took a bit of trimming and drilling but it looks stock.

Mines an '04 HU and I noticed that my chip is Pioneer as well but looking at OP and dumped99gs face plate where y'all put the aux jack, mine says "RDS" and y'alls don't. The aux jack opening is not big enough to where you would drill a hole there to clear the letters and designs as well unless y'all both sanded it down. So I don't know if that RDS makes a difference to why you have a tuner board on the top plate and I don't. Attach is the picture of the RDS I'm talking about.
