Default Help!! New 01+ master cylinder installed on 99 gs4 - still have vsc/abs lights! Help!

I recently purchased a 2003 gs300 master cylinder and had it professionally installed on my 99 gs400. Brakes work fine now and no more "baby screaming" buzzing noise but the VSC/ABS/VSC OFF lights are still on.

Searched all over the place for this issue but I cant seem to find the solution or anyone who has fixed this same issue. Its already been 3 weeks and my car is still sitting at the shop after triple checking everything.

Ran the codes and it came out with:

c1246 - master cylinder pressure sensor fault
c1223 - abs system fault

Supposedly, the reason why c1223 is on is because c1246 is on. And I know you have to do some modifications on the pressure sensor since the 01+ BMC are different. The shop wired it correctly but lights are still on.

Lexus wants $400+ for a new master cylinder pressure sensor but which one should I get? the one for 98-00 or 01+? anything else I should check before forking out another $400+?? HELP!!!

Sounds like the shop messed up.

1. No wiring is required. Only swap sensors. Your computer will not recognize 01 sensor if your car is not 01.

2. They should have reset the codes..

YES.. This info can be gathered from doing a simple search and taking time to educate yourself even if your not mechanically inclined. Its there to help you from CONDITIONS as yours..

The 01 sensor will not plug into the 99 harness in addition to not reading correctly, so unless they had the pigtail...Im curious to see the monstrosity..

I searched everywhere but all I found on here and through google were to get a new pressure sensor. and I couldnt find anything on specifically removing the old sensor and put it onto the new one. I guess they didnt do that and instead somehow wired it to fit the new sensor.

when you're a lowlife who has 24/7 to be on this site and have nothing better in life to do, you'll find everything. So why dont you put that to use and do all of us a favor and post the links that you've found? Maybe someone else whose reading this thread may find it useful. I searched for "abs vsc light" "master cylinder" "master cylinder buzzing noise" ... and many more. Came across a lot of threads mentioning 01+ bmc are better for replacements but many stated to buy a new sensor and even some saying some wiring needs to be done, but none that I've seen specifying to swap the old sensor. My car has been sitting in the shop for a month and you think all this time I've been sitting on my a** not searching for a solution?

I also saw another thread, same situation, where you made snarky remarks to someone needing help as well and thanks to you, his thread got closed. So if you have ignorant opinions, keep it to yourself and instead help the members who need it and post what they cant find since you're such a genius at finding everything

You may also need to do the TC + E1 reset on the DLC under the hood to reset/clear the codes.

Yeah we tried that but the codes still stayed on. But they finally fixed it with the sensors!
