Quick question, the remote on my key isnt working, idk if its b/c it needs a new battery or b/c the shell itself is broken. My question is can I transfer the key and electronics to a new shell, or will that mess with the transponder? The previous owner glued the shell back together

yes. If you open the key there is a little pod that holds those three buttons. The key you have now is a two peice with the metal key and one and that "pod" as the other in one shell.

Change the remote immediately, it looks like you missed lunch one day and went for the key.

You will need to get a new shell. You can get them on ebay for like $10 bucks but you will have to get a new key cut. Here in Charlotte, the dealerships wouldn't cut a key they didn't sell and most of the locksmiths here wanted like $70 dollars. I ended up getting one off ebay. I got two new already cut keys for like $55 dollars. They are the flip style keys and now I have a spare if the case cracks etc. Here is the link. The price has actually gone down.

You will need to send them a picture of your key or the key code. If you didn't get the key code from the seller, you will need to take proof of ownership to your local lexus dealership and they can get it out of their system for you. I think they also do the regular style keys if you want that and it's may cost less. You would have to contact them for that.

If all I need is the shell, why do I need to get a new key cut? Cant I just transfer the remote internals and key blade to the new shell? Or are the key blades them selves non-removable?

Oh No not a Pars Cars car!!! I would get that car checked out thoroughly before anything else happens! That stealership is known to roll back odometers! I have caught them red handed doing it! Good luck!

Not Pars Cars, Pars Auto Sales, 2 different car dealerships, and I did a carfax on the car before even going to look at it

The blade is part of the shell. There is no way to transfer it. If only the back was damaged, you could order a new back but if the front is damaged, you will need a new shell with blade. When you open the key up, you will see how the blade is connected to the front portion of the shell.

So the CEL came on on the car a few days ago then went away the day before yesterday. It came back today so I got it read at Auto zone, and the code is P0430. Does that mean the cat is bad or goin bad or is there other things i need to check first?

No solution that I'm aware of. Yeah, it's pretty lame.

Odds are your post cat O2 sensors are failing intermittently. Replace the one that corresponds to the bank that's failing. $65, and easy to swap. Then, if that doesn't do the trick you KNOW it's really the cat. 70% of the time it's the sensor, making it look like the cat.

Just search for O2 diy. There's a pretty good one around here somewhere. Helped me a bunch.
