Remove c-pillar around the edge of doors
Hi ClubLexus,
I had a bike rack on top of my GS400 and drove into the parking garage with the bike on the rack. I cleared the entrance, but later end up hitting the seat post of the bike while inside the garage driving through an overhang beam that was low. It ended up lifting the c-pillar where the latch hooked into it on the driver side. Anyway, I need to remove the c-pillar that is around the doors edge and replace it with one from the junkyard (if one can be found). I don't see how to remove it, so I am here for some help. here is the pic of the c-pillar that i am talking about, with the red arrows pointing to the silver shining thing around the edge of the door. Note that I tried to fixed it up a little bit so I could relatch the rack. It definitely needs to be replaced, but I have not yet know how to remove it. Anyone know please help. I searched but could not find any.
Thanks guys.

It's riveted on. Kinda hard to explain but... Just get a flat head screwdriver and pry open the rubber part in the door jam and it will reveal some rivets and all you need to do is drill them out. Then remove the rear interior pillars because there's 10mm nuts that hold the qtr panel garnish on. It will come out in one piece

Thanks Geeznuts. I was hoping that it was attached to the car body with screws. Riveted would be more difficult to do because the dealer don't have the parts, and if found some cars from the junk yard, I can't remove the pieces without damaging it. Oh well, I have to live with it. Thanks again for answering.
