My New JDM JZS161
Hi Guys
Thought I would introduce myself on these forums, I've been lurking for a long time and finally decided to create an account today after purchasing a 2001 Toyota Aristo V300 Vertex Edition
After going from two Hondas to the Aristo all I can say is that I've already fallen in love with boost. The 2JZ-GTE pulls very hard and I haven't even put my foot all the way to the floor yet. Definitely rides a lot better than the Hondas too with a lot less road noise. The car is very clean and I was very lucky to come across a model in this condition. Even in New Zealand where we import huge numbers of cars from Japan the V300 model Aristo is rare.
The car is bone standard at the moment which is the way I wanted it. I was planning to do a full sound install but after hearing how good the factory JBL system is I am not so sure that I need to. The very first thing for me to do is to get some 35% security tints and next after that is to slam it as reliably as possible I'm thinking Tein Comfort Sports but still have to do a bit of research.
Anyway it is good to be part of the forums and I hope I can contribute something meaningful
p.s I live in NZ if anyone is wondering why the car is RHD.

Thanks guys, appreciate the comments.
The Car has done 87,000 miles so it's getting a little up there but I plan to look after it really well. I'll probably take it in next week and get the cambelt, oil and transmission fluid changed just to be safe. I'm also thinking of getting the suspension bushings and lower ball joints checked out.
Anything else that you guys can recommend I get checked at the same time?
I'm pretty certain the kit that came with my car is factory fitted as mine is the Vertex Edition and has the badges to prove it. Note: it's not the same kit that Vertex produce for our cars but one designed specifically for this edition.

Agree the kit an option and nothing to do with it being a Vertex Edition. It was however a Dealer option from Toyota and referred to in the catalogue as the 'Elegant Sports Version'. The full option kit also included a sports grill and clear side indicators. The kit could be purchased alone from the dealer though if the customer wanted. as far as I can tell, the kit could be purchased for any model level. I like it though and suits the car.
Oh, and the Aristo 'Vertex Edition' has nothing to do with the after market Japanese brandname Vertex from T&E. It is a bit confusing though.
Anyway, a bit of info there for you.
I've done a bit of work on mine, if you have any questions, let me know.
