Default Shop says my stock rims make my tires leak so I have to buy new rims will these work

I have a black Lexus GS430 Sports Edition

My tires are leaking air all the time so I took them to a shop and they said the stock rims on these cars because there not black wear and cause leakage on the tires. He says he sees it all the time.
He fixed them and they started leaking again so this time the guy at the shop said just buy the black ones. They wont cause problems. Chocked at having to spend the money.
Question. Why would lexus make these stock rims knowing that they cut into the tire?
And will these black ones Im looking at look okay and my tires will be okay?

Im looking at ones called platinum Wolverine Diamond cut/black. Im told the list price is 187 plus tax.
IF anyone has these on their car or something similar please let me see as I am curious if black rims would look good on my car.

The chrome wheels are notorious for pitting and leaking air.

The area that is leaking can be sanded down and painted or sealed with a rubber sealant. I would spend the money on new rims if you like the stocks.

+1 I had similar issues with Volks once. I saw my guy wrap a piece of paper around a pencil and sand the area where the valve stem went and bam it worked. It depends where they see the leak unless it's all around the edges. Then yea new wheels it is.

The shop said they sanded them down but 15 pounds lighter on one tire 2 months later shows it didnt work. Id rather keep the stocks but not if they do that nonsense.

Is this just for one rim? If so, just throw on the spare and drive on it until you can save up for new wheels and tires.

Yes. I agree. Do that. Sometimes people aren't really trying to help. Just crack your pockets. Go to different shops and see what your options are.
