IS300 vs SC400

IS300 vs SC400
I was lucky enough to purchase a Black on Pearl White 03 Sport Desgin and now my wife wants to take it from me. I am contemplating a GS400, but I have also been wanting a manual IS300 since they first came out.
To confuse things even more, since I came on this forum, I have been intrigued with the SC series. Now I can't decide which one to get. Can you please give me your opinions based on your first-hand experiences?
Is the IS going to be cheaper to maintain in the long run, or are they all basically the same? I just spent a chunk of change replacing the front suspension on the 03 GS (it could have been cheaper if replacing the bushings were a lot easier).
Thanks a lot in advance.

Interesting post. As a past- sc300 owner I'm thinking about a GS400/430, SC400 or IS300 as well. (LS430 is definitely a nice car but too big for my taste lol, plus it takes quite some money to make it look good.)

Which of these 3, is300, sc400 and gs400/430, has the quietest ride inside? I'm trying to get a more comfort-oriented car after owning my NC miata which is fun, raw and... not comfortable lol.

Do kids and/or friend often ride with you? Get the IS or GS
Mostly drive by yourself or +1? Get the SC
Want a manual trans? Get the IS or SC
Want to go fast[er then the others]? Get the GS
Really you should try to drive them and see which speaks to you. Personally I would not buy two of the same car. maybe look at some other cars. I love having the choice between my WRX, GS, and Durango.

I started with a SC400. I love it. Gas mileage isn't too good though. I like to drive friends and family around, and plus a dog! So I had to get another car. I had to choose between a GS or an IS. The looks of both cars rule. The IS looks more aggressive and I kind of like its looks more than the GS. Interior wise you cant beat the GS it's build like a Lexus should be (Leather, Wood, Power everything). So now I've got a 1993 SC400, 1999 GS300, and 2008 Suzuki GSXR 600. I still want that damn IS300 though.

Well your wife will be taking the IS, and you have an 03 Gs. Why not get an SC and have it all to your self. Take her in the GS when ya'll go on special occasions, spin tires in your SC and she can still just drive her own IS Then you can have all 3. I assume that you have a gs300, having the 400 is faster, stronger but its another GS.

Thanks for the input, guys. The GS is definitely very comfy and gives my family enough room when we all together. I do have a 94 Integra that I just drive to work or use as a beater. I do agree about the GS400 just being another GS, but it is quicker.
The IS is just not as big in the back and it is very hard to find a manual that hasn't been molested at this point. If I do get an IS or SC, I would replace my Integra and use it as my drive to work vehicle. I can always keep the Integra as a beater.
Decisions, decisions...
