Default need your help. smoking navi unit.

Friends... I have a delemma and I hope u guy can help me out. Yesterday driving home everything is fine with my navi headunit on my gs430. When I was on my way to a friends house smoke started coming out of my center vents. Wth!!! I pull the headunit to see if it was something else but everything seems fine but when I turn on the headunit.. Smoke was coming from behind the.screen area. What can I do?

Did you have any aftermarket speaker installation recently?
If so, maybe they connected it wrong or didn't plug it in all the way.
Does it have a smell?
I've never heard of a Navigation system smoking!!

Its OEM navi unit. Oh man... It was working fine since I got the car. I might have take apart the navi into pieces. It smells like burnt electrical components. No one ever had this issue? Nothin came up when I searched

yikes that definitely sounds scary.

i would stop driving it and take the car apart to see where the source is coming from.

might be indeed wires touching, you dont want your car catching on fire now!

I pulled the HU out with the connection still in and turned it on. I see smoke coming from inside the HU right behind the screen. Everything looks fine.. just the HU is failing on me. Anyone got one forsale??
