Default Sportdesign from the Middle East (Pics)

Hey all,

New member here, checking in from Bahrain,Middle East. If you have not heard of Bahrain, we the little place next to Saudi and Dubai that got an amazing F1 circuit and a bunch of other motorsports activities. Just picked up an '03 Sportdesign a few weeks ago, The car is mechanically sound, but needs a bit of TLC with regards to the bodywork. So far, I've slapped on a set of coilovers and lexus sport wheels that are borrowed off a mate, and slammed her down. Also replaced the ball joints, inner and outer tie rods, FIGS spherical bearings for the caster arms and fluids change. Got to get me a set of Megans and some 19 " Varrstoens next month. Immediate plans include a paintjob, audio system and hopefully a supra TT auto rear end, for some fun. They go for around $160 local, so no biggie. Plans for next year is an Aristo 2jz-gte swap w/auto tranny. Pricing on them is around $1500. Seems to be slightly cheaper than what you guys would pay for it in the states. Anyways, enough with the yapping and on with some pics.

Slammed, tucking rear tires and scrapping the under carriage. Not that fun.

Raised it up a bit here, when I installed the FIGS spherical bushings for the caster arm.

Friends SC slammed and stanced.

Cool cars there are all well put togather. Very nice prices on parts, make a swap so much easier. Have fun modding your car.

Oh yeah, car was imported over. Lots of GS's and other vehicles get exported from the states over to the middle east. The SportDesigns were never sold here in the Middle East.

I'll definitely do the 2jz swap next year, and then go single after a while. Its going to be a daily driven, pump gas turbo swap.Working in a shop with a experienced tuner and a dyno at your disposal makes thing a whole lot easier..

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Car is touching 100k miles. Timing belt and water pump are still in prime condition. Might change them out in a few weeks when I throw on the Supra diff.

Looks great - what color interior? It looks like saddle in the pics.

Interior is saddle indeed. Currently got the car up on the lift, lowering it a bit more. Will post up updated pics in a little bit.
