when you space the lens away from the base where it sits it will start to give you more color, and the cutoff line becomes more define and sharper. idk if this answered your question about clarity.
it really depends, every projector is different, i suggest have the projector hooked to a battery like i did and test with spacing the lens while aiming it at a wall about 20~ ft away until you like what you see. some people use gauge wires but that was too thick for me so i just cut out rings of construction paper and stacked them until i got the desired setting, also switching to clear lens and doing the spacers will really help alot. hope this helped. here are some examples of color mod and sharp cutoff.
how come your projector does not look centered but pushed more to the outside?
That is how it is mounted using the brackets I got from Tony at Luxury Mods. It moves the projector out a bit and that gives a much wider light output.
Yes I know some night shots is long overdue but I can't seem to get the right shots that does justice to the light using my crappy camera.
I can say the light output is super wide and with a nice cutoff. Well worth the time and $$$. I can get a little more light it I remove the headlight lens and polish it clean. Did not do that when I had it apart.
Some night shots. need to work on the cutoff but happy with it for now. Looks a lot better with the naked eye
