Default Seatbelt Warning Chime Alarm Ding

Does anyone know if there is a seatbelt warning chime for the second generation gs models and if so how to turn it on/off? Mine has the flashing light but no sound and I would like it to (rather my car nag me than my girlfriend) Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've searched all over the forums and can't find anything specific to this model.

I'm sure theres a simple way to modify it to do so by using the key chime.

I have no clue why you would want one though.

The girlfriend literally nags me relentlessly about it and in all fairness I don't have much of an argument. So having my car remind me sounds like a much better option.

She nags you about not having a chime for a seat belt? WTF!

Haha no no she nags for not having my seatbelt on and I'm terrible about remembering to put it on. So I want to turn the chime on so it reminds me instead of her.

It's not that hard just put the seat belt on first thing before you get into the car!

I, and most people are trained for it to be a natural instinct. Seatbelts can be a life safer and if you get caught without a seatbelt it's a pretty hefty fine these days

Haha wow. Thanks for the tip. However, my question isn't about the ease or difficulty of remembering to put it on as I've clearly stated I have a hard time remembering as my girl so consistently points out. My question is in regards to the stock features of the 2nd gen gs model and whether it come with a chime warning and not if it's easy to remember to put the belt on first thing or not. If anyone has any helpful info on this feature of it exists would be incredibly appreciated.

IIRC, 2gs does have this setting which can be enabled through the dealership.

hopefully you find a nice dealership that doesn't charge though.

Well I called hoping they would but unfortunately found out there s no chime. I'll be looking into the mod mentioned earlier with the key chime. Seems do-able.

Just wire in a pressure switch like the one on the passenger side for the airbag, connect it to power a tape recorder so that when you sitdown to start the car even if your GF's not there you'll hear her say "Honny please don't forget your seatbelt".

Actually as I think bout it there already is a warning light when you don't put the belt on to remind you... can get power from there for the chime

There was an earlier post saying that was possible by attaching a 12v buzzer to the light indicator wire. This site is a really great source for learning how to DIY. I found this site by accident but glad I did. I know very little about automotive how to but am looking forward to getting a load of maintenance thanks to CL. Hoping to add the buzzer mod to the list.
