Crystal White GS430 - Choose My Next Wheels
Hi folks,
My 2001 GS430 is currenly sitting on a set of 2007-2008 RX-350 18x7 35mm offset wheels with brand new 225-40-18 and 245-40-18 tires. Although I like the wheels, I'm looking for something different that will further compliment the car (if anyone is interested in my RX-350 wheels, feel free to PM me to discuss). The picture of the car is shown below:
Right now it's all a blank canvas as I have not decided on anything from style to size to finish. The car is lowered on a set of Tanabe NF210 springs and I don't intend to go any lower. Also, this is a daily driver, so I want an aggressive look but absolutely cannot go over the top by buying the most aggressive fender hugging set-up possible. I don't mind rolling/shaving the fenders, but I need it all to clear comfortably. Also, on first order I'd like to find a set of wheels new or used in the $1000-1500 range, but may consider paying more if I find something that really moves me.
I've taken a look at the Varrstoen line of wheels and do like the Apex-100 series as well as the track-200 series but would like to also look at other options first.

Although the following wheels don't have a lip/dish, I also very much like the E60 M5 wheels which have the following specs:
19x8.5 12mm 255-40-19
19x9.5 22mm 285-35-19
I would be able to get the rears to work with a 15-19mm adapter, but the fronts would already be very close to flush with no adapter so it would not be easy without re-drilling, something I'd prefer to avoid. I do like the idea of using OEM BMW wheels though since they are typically cost effective, high quality, lightweight, and available.

Also, I've always been a fan of the 2GS OEM 17x8 rims that came in satin or chrome shown here: http://www.theautochannel.com/media/...us_gs400_2.jpg
I've considered running those wheels with a 25mm spacer front and a 30mm spacer rear. Since these wheels have a 50mm offset, they can tolerate a thick spacer, as shown in the images below. This car is running a 33mm spacer front and a 38mm spacer rear with 235-45-17 tires:
My scattered brain gene is even making me consider widening those rears to 17x10.5 and running a 285 or even a 315 tire, lol
Anyway, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on what you think would look great and meets all the requirements above.
Thank you!

Thanks for the suggestions.
It's unfortunate that the BMW E60 M5 wheels don't look promising with the adapters since that would have been a nice option.
I'll slightly leaning towards the OEM 17x8 2GS wheels with spacers.

Just as a quick update, I ended up purchasing a set of 2005 BMW 7-series Style 95 wheels.
19x9 24mm
19x10 24mm
The wheels have been sent out for redrill, hubcentric 72.5mm to 60.1mm rings are on order, and hunting for a set of tires now.
I'm planning on going with the following:
front: 245-35-19
rear: 265-35-19
19x9 24mm
19x10 24mm

I will be updating my progress with the BMW 7-series wheels as it happens in this thread.
The CCW's always have looked great on most cars and our 2GS is no exception. I'm hoping that XXR/Varrstoen come out with a CCW Classic Replica soon (they already have the 15-16" versions above). Both are more than likely coming from the same Chinese factory and being sold it different boxes I'm sure.

Thank you sir! The RX 18's are a nice upgrade from stock certainly. I'm just attempting to press the envelop a little further :-)
Will provide a full report on this as soon as I get them back next week sir.
