How to fix your Servo Motors! Complete guide.

Looks like I am going to have to do this again but for the other 2genGS. This one again the drivers side is fine, but the passenger side will only blow cold air, which was not a problem during the summer, but now that it is getting colder - well I figure it's time to get to while the memory of how it's done is fresh.
@ Odinson you mention "instead of prying off half of the white plastic shroud/air-tube vent, I took the whole piece out. Its third screw is behind the plastic console trim" is it possible to pull off only the right side trim in front of that screw easily?

I thought one of mine was going behind glove box. awful noise happening. Took glove box and CD changer out and there was a piece of paper in the blower motor. it's an 02 gs300 with all the factory servo's still working.

Freaking awesome. Thanks!
I have heard the "gerbil" squeaking sound from my dash off and on for the past 2 years and suddenly my "mode" option for where AC comes out stopped working (the physical part).
I am going to attempt this fix soon.

Do yourself a big favor and just replace it. The labor taking it out the second time a few years later isn't worth it.

I disagree, often time when the servo begins to make noises is when there's bad contact on the rheostat sensor or the pin on the motor that holds the worm gear has moved out of position.
If you catch it early enough, servicing it will be fine.
If you wait till it stops working then you will need to replace it.
I service these regularly and can do all 4 servos in about 1.5 hours.

My wife had the same problem with the crackling sound behind dash. I removed mode servo and fixed the little wormhole where it has no more wiggle room and tight!
I was glad the sound was gone.
Unfortunately my wife told me the next day that the middle vent on passenger side is blowing hot and the others cold with ac on?
Any ideas?
If I need to replace what is part number?

FRESH AIR/RECIRC SERVO removal
Hi, I am one of the exception that you mentioned in your post. I have 2 servos that went bad on my 2004 rx330. I am having trouble figuring out how to remove the FRESH AIR/RECIRC SERVO. The air recirc servo is failing as you described in you post, the door opens and closes but keep running (clicking) at the end of it's travel. Any help you can direct me on how to remove it would be appreciated.

Hi! I know I am VERY late in joining this thread, but hopefully there are some experts still online!
Post #1 on replacing/repairing the heater servo units is excellent advice! However I am in New Zealand and have a Right Hand Drive 1999 GS300 (Imported from Singapore). The driver side heater servo is not in the position described in Post #1. I can hear it clicking when I press the temperature switch and it appears to be in behind the steering wheel (I hope not!!!) Can anyone help me, please?

Thank you for that. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the case. I have just purchased a workshop Manual, so hopefully all will become clear.
Thank you again.
Thank you again.

Recirculation Servo
Quick question: Should the Recirculation Flap (shown below) open and close when the FreshAir-Recirculation button is pushed on the dash?
