You'll have to go to Lexus to get a new master code programmed and your remaining keys re-coded. Prepare to cough up

I doubt it.. Recoding the computer is something Lexus keeps close to the chest.

What about your keys? He could still open your car with the key itself, even if he can't drive away with it.

$180 to program a key? Thats pretty cheap, considering most lexus places would tell you, you need a new ECU and give you 2 keys for $500.

I never understand why people that go to the gym just throw their keys/wallet/phone behind the workbench. Start working out, then take a water break without keeping their eyes on their belongings. At least get a back/bagpack.

$180 is not a bad price. Do it asap for peace of mind.

Call your local locksmith they will be able to do a ecu reflash even if you dont have a master key and only the keys you have at the moment will work.

or i was thinking if i should get an aftermarket alarm. what do you guys think?

place some Claymores at the front doors case someone decides to open the door at night.

also GPS tracker and c4 inside the trunk of the car.

Real talk,

Change your house locks first. then worry about the car. for now see if you can barrow a friends car so u dont leave your car at home.

i left my phone once at the treadmill but luckily the person put it up at the front... also same day i found some dudes phone on the bench.. left it there for awhile but then had my friend put it up at the front desk... Good karma.

at my gym, it would be pretty easy to spot a lexus in the parking lot, without relying on the key fob. unless a large population of people at your gym drive lexuses, id probably either never drive that car to the gym again, or spend the money for a rekey.

You can get most auto locksmiths to come out and do the job at your house/work/gym. What they will do is go get a chipped cut key from lexus or toyota and then erase the 'held' keys in your ecu/immobiliser system and then replace them with a new encoded set of keys. The techstream software does this, you can probably find some auto mech in your area that would do this as well. IF the dealer is charging $180 with the reprogram, do it. Otherwise, your safest bet is to check ebay/junkyard for a complete lock, key, and chip/cutkey setup.

The old key will open your doors, but it wont be able to start the car. What I would do is not worry about the car so much -- if your gym doesnt have cameras outside of them or somewhere inside the gym itself, get a new gym.
