Shaking when breaking at 65mph or more?
So check this out guys. I noticed last year that my steering wheel would shake when braking from 65mph or more. At that time I was still riding on the summer set of wheels/tires. Then in the fall I switched to my winter wheels/tires and the shaking was gone. Now I switched back to summer wheel/tires last weekend, and the shaking is back.
I'm almost 100% positive its not the wheels. There is no shaking at all when driving at any speed, and in fact the wheels I put on the front of the car are the ones that were on the rear last year, and vice versa.
Could it be a warped rotor(s) and I'm just not feeling it with winter tire set because they are soft with huge sidewall?

I am having this same problem. I replaced my rotors and didn't solve anything someone said to replace the tie rod ends. Someone please if they have done it before lemme know if this will solve my problems I don't wanna spend money if it's not gonna help

All the factors play a role and adds up. when you brake, all the weight goes onto the front; which amplifies whatever imbalance you have. So it could be the rotors, but it could be the tires or both. Or all the play in the rest of the suspension (which can be the big $ fix with replacing tons of parts to find the play)
Do you get differences braking on an uphill, versus braking on flat, versus braking downhill? I would suspect you get most shaking on the downhill. If you get zero shaking during uphill/flat braking, then rotors might be OK. That doesn't help nail down diagnosis but helps illustrate the issue more.
I would suggest you can swap around tires to try to find the pair that reduces this shaking the most, and give up on rotating tires; you'll have to live with it.
If you didn't replace rotors recently, you can give that a go during your next brake job; but keep your expectations low that that will resolve everything.

Did you replace the right rotors though? Did you replace the rears too? I have shaking when i brake too but i know mine are definitely the rotors, just gotta figure of its the rear because I just turned my fronts back in September.

i had the same issues recently and changed out my rotors. i had a set of brembo blanks and they warped in a little over a year. i currently have the centric premiums which is a smaller company off stoptech and so far no shakes at all.
the symptoms i had was the steering wheel would shimmy at high speed braking, local roads were perfectly fine.

My lucky 8 ball says highly unlikely. If it were a worn rack and pinion, you would feel the vibration at all times, not just while braking. I'll put money on it being warped rotors.
@O.P. Change your pads and rotors all around, your vibration should go away.
You ever do any spirited driving in your car? I'd hope they would last longer than a year doing normal driving ha
