Default Plasti Dip chrome trim???

Has anyone ever used Plasti Dip to "black out" their chrome trim? I'm considering doing this to my Sport Design.

What about the front grill? The paint on my anniversary grill has chipped pretty bad. Instead of getting a replacement I figured I could Plasti Dip that as well...?

I've been attempting to sell my car with no luck. So to get myself through the next few months I'm going to sink a little money into the lex. I just purchased Tanabe df210 springs and kyb gr2 shocks. I'm in the market for a set of 19" g35 coupe wheels. If the Plasi Dip on the trim works out well then I'm going to have the wheels powder coated black. Thoughts?

I have plasti dipped the chrome rims on my truck about 6 months ago. It still looks great. The best thing is, you can always peel off when you want. So you dont have to worry about permanent damage.

I'm now contemplating using the plasti dip on the front lower valence for the 2 bars that run horizontally between the foglights. Similar to what ^^^GS300Rich^^^ has done to his. Also to mirror this on the rear I'm thinking about spraying the rear valence in between the exhaust tips. Thoughts?

I have plastidip on my front grille and it turned out great. I sprayed everything except the "L" logo. I think you should do both the front and back bumpers..it will look great if you do it right. You will need to tape off precisely and then pull the tape while the plastidip is still wet in order to get a clean line. I plan on doing the same to mine, but I was in a fender bender a few weeks ago and am waiting for rear bumper repair and respray before I can plastidip.

I did the rear emblems about a year ago on my GS and it has held up well. The 2IS guys have a huge thread on this, if I recall I think someone did all the chrome trim and it turned out nicely.

Here's the thread

I would powder coat the wheels. I searched pretty hard for the plastidipped trim on the GS... I found a few photos of it done in that IS thread. They served the same purpose essentially. I like the way it looks.

I purchased some materials off of dipyourcar.com yesterday. I also got this new product that is called "glossifier". I'm thinking that may work well on my front grill and trim pieces to keep the "metal" look and not the cheap(er) looking flat black.

Anyone have any experience with the new glossifier product?

Plastidiped my rear bumper it looks pretty clean. I also plastidipped the chrome window trim on my BMW. The plastidip would look pretty nice on your grey GS go for it.

I just plasti dip sprayed my rear emblems because of this thread... took me 10 minutes with the help of a blow dryer. I didn't even know about the product before this. after checkin out the link jherb provided I drove straight to lowes. Turned out awesome and is super easy to use. Totally reversible if ur not feeling it
