Default car all of a sudden slows down

driving down 5south before grapevine and car decides slow down and lose power. any ideas what happened? my car has been running lean for a while now. expensive fix? im very far from home. hundreds of miles

dead throttle body ! . shot tps APS or TCM !

This is what mine was. I drove for 3 weeks and it itermittenly lost power. I was trying to diagnose it myself and replace several parts before trying the throttle body.

How do you know your car is running lean? Cel was on before? Need to know some history

Sounds like throttle body issue.

Sorry I didn't explain it well. I took it to a shop and they said it was my catalytic converter. Thank you everyone for your input.

i know my car was running lean because the CEL has been on. The code that shows up is P0171 and a pending P0430. and after i posted that i was told catalytic conveter, i drove another 200mi without a problem.

Then you should fix that lean problem first. If the car is not in fuel control it will affect the catalytic converter's operation that's why you got the code for the cat. What size engine you got?
