Did OP say whp? I don't think he did. My GS4 was rated at 300hp stock. I'm confident with the SRT intake, exhaust, and TRD thermostat it's close to 320 crank hp. Back in the day SRT had dyno sheets showing +24 hp with their intake and ECU.

Crank is as good as me saying I make 90K a year and try to look like a Boss, when in reality after taxes its like 65k

Post up your Dyno sheet.

Crank hp is a reasonable assumption, since auto manufacturers rate their engines this way.

Again, where did the OP state that he was pursuing WHEEL hp? This was YOUR assumption.
Bro, you come-across as kind of an @ss.

Heres a little info, generally when someone asks about power they refer to @ the wheels. again silly me, since we are all auto manufacturers in this forum.

I think you are deviating form the question. Yes i did assume it was at the wheels as most people would. I guess you measure your output at the crank, which is fine but to me not really.

To be honest with you, i have dynod my cars in the past with add ons including tuning without going FI and its not as some manufacturers claim, and at the end each car is different but im sure you already knew this going by manufacturers specs and all.

Whats the issue with your Join Date? I dont get it?

Again, attitude.

I would disagree with the assumption that most people refer to whp. That's why people say "at the wheels" or "rear wheel horsepower" to clarify. Most people don't discuss the new GT-R as the ACTUAL horsepower put out at the wheels. Or the LF-A, 997 Turbo, etc. Context is key.

I've built several big hp cars, so I do know the difference. I still say the default is crank hp since most people can understand it and relate to it. I just finished a complete restoration on a '63 Lincoln with a supercharged/forged internal LS engine that put down 613hp at 8psi on the dyno. The customer was interested to know the CRANK horsepower, as it would compare more easily to his Alpina B7 and Novitech F430. We had to calculate up.

Join date would indicate that I am not a newbie.

Lol, have you read ****-adkt's sig?

Also, most people here at the Forum do talk Horse Power by the wheel.

Either way good stuff with the SRT Intake.

Maybe $7500 over a really nice gs300 but u get a $130k car with 600 lbs of torque and incredible reliability and looks to boot....not to mention a tune is only $1000 and your luxury Benz will do 195mph and low 11's in the 1/4 still with reliability and quality

Lexus does not build fast cars.....They build awesome luxurious cars that are wallet friendly

So stop trying to go faster with a car designed to pamper
more like tune = 1200-1400, then add in TCU tune 1200+, box tuner plug 500~, and aftercoolers, pumps, intake...

not to mention the ABC suspension that's have high chance of failure in either blocks, valves, or top of strut... then there's coil packs..... that'll set you back a good amount of money too...
600 are better than 55s in term of power and tunability, but things also adds up... ask me how I know

Easiest way to get those number is sell the 300 and buy a 400.

The more fun way..Boost!! swap or Na-t

Lol OP, you're not gonna get to 300whp if you dont boost it. With bolt-ons (exhaust, intake, headers, ecu and tuning) you'll be lucky to break 210whp in a 300. Sooo yeah, even with a 400 or a 430 it will be hard breaking 300 wheel without major mods including spray.

This thread is kinda crazy, 300-310 at the crank or the wheel isn't gonna happen if your worried about anything costing too much.

The guys talking about nitrous may sound to be joking, but in reality is about the only that fits your agenda, cheap and can give the wanted hp..

For how long is the only issue with that. But for a few hundred bucks a Zex kit is cheap and easy to install..

Quick Reply: I want to get about 300HP on my gs300 what all should i put in??
