I've come a long way since I started this thread.
261k miles now.
Runs awesome still. Best car I ever bought.

Ok, just curious how many people have actual miles on their GS3/GS4. Some say that they can go 300k miles easily. But if that is the case, how many have made it there?
Mine 98 GS4 is only at 140,500 miles. I bought mine at 138800 miles or so.
My 94 Cadillac Fleetwood made it to 250k EASILY. My 90 Aerostar Van made it to 275k (given to us, already on 3rd trans.... but engine was solid and strong, body was GONE), my 91 Pontiac Bonneville went 270k before we gave it away, again, easily, not a single major problem, original trans and engine and drive axles. Never even popped a valve cover.

GS has the 2JZGE I6...more robust and powerful than the 1MZFE V6
Name another car and stock motor you can do this to.
Probably none...I'm convinced these are the strongest stock engines ever made

The 2JZ died in 05, the 06 was a different engine.

The Lexus i was given for my 16th birthday from my mom (she bought it with 4 miles from the dealership) and is now at 170k and still runs like a champ :thumb: still questioning rather i should put a turbo on a car with that many miles?

I don't take care of mine, I treat it like shat.
260k and running strong! (crank walk for about 3 years LoL) Took her up to 110 a few months ago and she still purred! So "BOOM!" Proof this engine rocks! In my case. literally, even without rigorous babying
Now before you begin accusing me of speeding and breaking the law... i was only going over the limit by 10mph

Can't say anymore than has already been said, fantastic car. Just passed 227,000 miles. When I purchased it back in '99, I had no idea it would be so good. The first trip I took was from NC to GA to see my niece when she was born, she will be graduating high school next year. I have a spreadsheet with every maintenance record on it since new. If there is anything ever wrong (and not much has gone wrong) it is fixed the next week, no questions asked. Had my second TB/WP change earlier this year so should be good for a while. Needless to say it is not for sale, ever!
We now have 3 Lexus vehicles in the family: '99 GS400, '02 SC430, and my +1 has a '17 GX470.

Got my GS300 in Aug with 175k. It has 198k now, it has had a failed O2 sensor, I got a new T belt when I bought it because the idiotic PO left the original one on for 16 years. Want to either swap a gte or na t eventually
