Default Anyone with JZGTE VVTI swap in an 03 or 01+?

Been doing alot of research and it seems like a 98-00 chasis is the easiest to swap the 2jzgte vvti engine (with respect to wiring). Has anyone done the swap in a later chasis? Any issues with things not working? (ABS, Eshift, Traction control, ect.). How hard was the wiring? I've done ALOT of toyota swaps but I know the accessories and extras are usually what give the most headache and obviously lexus has alot of those.

I've done 6 GTE swaps into late01/02+ cars so far now. All have had single turbo upgrades. The reason that the 98-00/early01 is easier to do is because the wiring is nearly a plug and play. On the 01/02+ cars the wiring harness on the ECU is completely changed up. I usually install a standalone or piggyback onto the stock ECU. Cars using the stock ECU + piggyback, everything works and even passes the plug in OBD-II emissions testing. On the standalone cars, stock everything still works besides the traction control and obviously it no longer passes OBD2 testing.

I don't have to worry about emission testing. I am more concerned about keeping all the options that make the car so enjoyable and comfortable.

With more toyota swaps that have different harnesses there is usually only repin/cutting/splicing at the points on the harness that go into the chasis. Typically its just a matter of powering up the main compentents from the relays, sending the right signals from the engine to the dash, ect. Does this swap basically follow the same idea or is there any curveballs that should be advised.

I just want to run factory ECU/injectors/turbos. Maybe upgrade to 550s/SAFC/USDM Twins if the ceramics blow up but Im focusing more on "fun daily driver" factor than raw power.

Any info is much appreciated

I'm planning to swap in a full 01~ V300 powertrain and running gear into my 01 GS3. It will be pretty comprehensive, we're talking about everything from the engine bay to ARS and wiring harness. Sounds silly doing it this way but I'm more after a stock-ish swap rather than all out custom (it'd be nice but gotta remember this is my daily). A buddy has a 98 GS3 swapped (with full body/engine bay harness) and everything works as it should.

Now, to save my pennies! Having a mortgage sucks.

Jeff, I'm in Houston and will hopefully be giving you a call/pm soon to figure out more details about this swap. I own an 01 GS300 and want to try an accomplish this with my tax return.
