I would guess the float and sending unit attached the fuel pump are not working.

that has happened to me, more than once, but Just as recently as last week. But my fuel light was on, and I only put about 10-15 bucks in the tank so that it could hold me until I got to a gas station of my preference.

I'm not sure about your circumstances, but I know this has happened to me before. And also has happened to me before with my LS400 under the same circumstances.

How much gas did you pump? If you pumped a lot. your fuel sender might be bad.

LOL to be honest, i only pumped 4 dollars the first time. So i can drive to shells a couple miles away and then i pumped 5 more dollars because i realized i left my wallet at home.

So 9 dollars total, you think it will turn off if i pump like 20 dollars? First time it's ever happened to me

Can't hurt to try that before any ruling goes into faulty equipment.

Might want to try disconnecting the battery. This happened to me several times in Mexico and every time disconnecting and reconnecting the battery worked.

Lol.. No worries... But yea 10.00 is only like 2 gallons lol... Your reserve I think is 4 gallons alone when the light comes on... Maybe even more. So if you drove with the light on for a while it may take like 20.00 to get it passed quarter tank... Just cause the car cost you less than 10k doesnt mean owning it will cost as little as any honda... Welcome to vip labor and parts pricing...

Put 30 bucks in there and the needle will move. That's it.
