G35s are quick cars, don't sleep. That said the GS 400 is what the G35 wants to be when it grows up . I've never lost to one though my GS 430 is highly modded and its always funny the times I've chatted with the guy afterwards b/c he thinks he was going to win.

There is nothing like whooping *** in a modifed Lexus. Its hilarious to see peoples faces afterwards.

so you are saying a fwd 220hp 3000 pound car shouldnt beat a 300hp 3800 pound car? Do u not understand how weight plays a factor. Lets look at the same logic. My 306 WHP fwd car went 12.9@106 , why cant your 300hp RWD car do the same? Do you get where im going with it?

Repugnant; 2002 also came with 255 HP 245 Trq. , 2000-2001 came with 222.Unless you got yourself the 20th Anniversary Maxima in 2001 , that came with 227HP.

And yes my 02 Maxima would roast the living day lights out of a GS400. Epsecially From a roll , 6 speed,I/H/E JW ECU. Mods adapted very well to the VQ3.5 more so than the 350Z or the G35 which the VQ3.5 was maxed out in stock form. I/H/E didn't have the same effect on those cars as they did on the Maxima and Altimas. FI and building the bottom end was key to making serious power in the 350Z/G35.

Jaypee's 02 went 12.9 with i/h/e and flywheel. Look on maxima.org , it may help u understand that these cars are quicker than most think.

This thread changed directions, but yes, like i said, I was surprised by a Maxima (03)with bolt ons... Seriously had me saying "Daaam!" I asked the driver what he had, and he had some bolt on-s. Anyways, Lexus all the way.

So you were modded.....

because stock for stock, that Maxima would get walked by a GS400. Same goes for the Nissan 02-03 model. I know those Nissan VQ motors are very tourquey, but if you were auto, I think even with those modes the GS400 would still take it.

6-speed I owned , never auto. But I wouldn't sleep on a 02/03 auto max either. And when I did go against a GS400 stock i only got walked 1 and half cars. He wasn't pulling and I wasn't gaining anymore. Remember the GS400 are about 350lbs heavier than the Maxima. The GS400 really don't come alive till after 80 mph , hence when the guy started to walk away from me.

Saying that the GS400 was a sedan I always resepected because of how well it carried it weight around.

I've beaten a stock 03' coupe g35 by half a car and the only upgrade my GS400 has are g35 wheels, no suspension, no intake, no exhaust, nothing.

It's this simple, there is no way a stock 2003-2006 maxima can beat my gs400. Anybody who contest this and your in the new York area, feel free to line up. As far as g35s are concerned they are decent cars but lack upstairs when compared to the gs400.

I've personally witnessed stock gs430 run with 05+ g35. Keep in mind we are talking about straight line performance.

lol no one wants to see two decades old dinosaurs run one another. Especially stock vs stock.

But the simple answer is it's a drivers race up to a 1/4 mile run. (255 vs 300hp, 3200 vs 3700lbs) Anything longer than the 1/4, GS will walk away.

the GS400 was one of the fastest production sedans at one point. A lot of bang for the buck.
