I get the same thing with my gs3 at 57+ mph. shakes like crazy. I will be doing a few changes/upgrades and replace items. Gonna try in stages. starting with
1 wheels and tires (both new)
2 shocks n struts springs (KYB-GR2's with DF210's)
3 caster arm and LBJ ,tie rod
4 rotors and pads (front needs them)
Alignment is obvious too . All gonna be done within a few weeks. I'll update after.
I would only buy OEM parts with reguards to caster and lbj and tie rods IMO. Register yourself at Sewell discount on parts.

going to have to take a closer look at mine before i just start replacing parts, even though i'm not against replacing wear parts on a car with 130k on it and not really knowing for sure what has and has not been replaced.
my vibration is not bad just a little but after first reading some of these post i was thinking i needed to replace a bunch of parts, but now after thinking about it, it may just be the 20" wheels that came on the car when i bought it. 1 is bent pretty good (guy put it on back after bending) still holds air but liek i said lip is bend in. also just the other day i knowticed another wheel had just a small flat spot on the lip (bent ). i have some factory wheels that i'm planning on running in the winter (need tires) so i'll see when i get those on if i still have problem also.

So I had my megan coilovers installed about 3 weeks ago and it drove great until I got my alignment? I spoke with the tech and he advised that "your alignment will never be perfect again now that your car is lowered", this I did not know... Now my car also shakes fairly violently while going 60-65MPH, but anything past 65 and it is smooth??
If I am not mistaken I should probably just go ahead and replace all the parts that have been mentioned in this thread, btw I bought my car with 105K and now its at 186K and I have never replaced anything......

PM sent... ive literally been having this same issue... I'll ALWAYS get shaking at 60mpg...but RANDOMLY and i mean randomly like once a week or two.. i'll hit a small bump and the car shakes violently like a flat tire. To the point i have to pull over (and yes it does it at 5mph just like a flat tire)..stop for about 30secs..then get back on the highway and it drives perfect...
im thinking its a bad strut...but idk EVERYTHING is freaking original..

Make sure you are using hub rings if you have aftermarket wheels, also get your tires Hunter road force balanced, this is the #1 thing to do.

I'm surprised to see how many people are recommending that the suspension be the focus.
The vast majority of the time steering wheel shimmy will be cured by balancing the wheels. Start there. Road force balancing is recommended. If that doesn't cure it, only then should you move on to the suspension/steering.

I would like to shed some light onto this topic that is one of the huge gripes of the GS, steering wheel shakes. I have had plenty of GS's and let me tell you one thing that makes a huge difference and I didnt even realize it would until I just changed it the other day is the wheel bearings. My driver rear bearing was bad and now the car feels much smoother, glides better and the moment you take your foot off the brake you notice how much quicker and less resistance there is. It feels much faster and smoother. This is something to look into.
