You'll need two door computers, one for each door. I bought the switch on eBay from Japan, but the RHD panel doesn't fit our LHD dashboards, so I also got a switch panel from Europe where they have buttons instead of the tray and swapped one out for the retract switch. I think some Canadian models also have a switch panel, as they have headlamp washers, which is what the other button is on my panel (not hooked up); a dealer might be able to source the panel. I did have to add the connector and run two wires: one to the body computer and one to ground, and optionally you can tap illumination from the mirror switch if you want it to light up at night. There are two wires to add to the door harnesses, which go in the two empty spots on the left of each one's rightmost connector. The bottom spot goes to the blue wire on the retract motor, the top to the green.

Default Auto Folding when powered off

Reviving a semi old thread. iToaster, can you clarify whether your mirrors auto fold when ignition is powered off? I'm actually in Taiwan with these auto mirrors that comes standard. BUT! They don't auto fold unless the button is pressed. Do they need a constant sense for the mirror to fold or just a short trigger? Thanks ahead. BTW, for those who seek these parts, look up ruten.com.tw for gs300 and there's a guy that deals parts here (somewhat in English)

They don't automatically fold. The signal to fold the mirrors that the body ECU looks for is a constant ground. If you press the button while the car is off, they will assume whatever position it indicates then next time the ignition is turned on.

I'm not sure whether I have a faulty button or what. But on my GS, I must hold the button while the ignition is at the ON position in order for it to fold and then turn off the ignition to stay folded. I have seen a 2001 GS where if you press the button once, it folds and stay folded. press it again and it releases. Is that how yours operate?

The button should be a press-on, press-off type like the one used for the power window lockout. It's possible that your switch has broken somehow.

I played with it a few nights ago and it seems like it's just worn out. It works intermittently and only at certain angles. Thanks for clearing that up.
