At first I didnt think this existed but now this seems like an awesome thing to do however the down side is pretty steep, losing heated mirrors, and having the mirrors come out way to far because of the viewing angle is a big minus. AS stated before about the Saudi Arabia Mirror will those have the problem with the viewing angle, are they also not heated?

From what I understand, all the US mirrors are heated. All mirrors that are power folding do not have the heating option. I think this why the LS mirror is so much bigger than the GS one.

Saudi Arabian mirrors are an EXACT replacement for the USA. If you can get a set, your set! They are not heated.

Hey, no problem at all. I didn't post it since I been super busy. I was hoping to put together a new thread with some pictures as a reference for anyone that is interested in doing this.

To be honest, I love the feature and was ok with loosing the heated option.

Folding mirrors are great! I use them all the time in my Soarer when I'm stuck in traffic and some moron has their highbeams on.

It would be nice if you could start a diy thread.

What about left hand drive European cars? Wouldn't the mirrors have the correct angle? Plus the switch panel would fit perfectly.

that should not really matter? you just swap the motors over and they determine how far the mirror angles. there are two different types of motors motors out there, and they are both wired in very different ways.

your just changing the casing/fold mechanism.

it would matter, they would be almost a direct plug in play if the LHD euro's had folding mirrors

thats not exactly true...what you said. you cant swap motors over to a housing that never had them and they just work, would have to make or integrate a harness. not to mention the 98-00 and the 2001 ALREADY use a different mirror motor. essentially IF i could get ahold of a JDM mirror LHD or RHD i could sort this out.
