Default What should I pay for a 98 GS400?

I'm going to look at a 98 GS400 tomorrow and would like to get some opinions on what I should pay for it. The car has 106k miles and looks to be in pretty good shape from the pictures online. The dealer wants $10,990 for the car which I think is 2-3k high. The car has heated seats, nakamichi stereo, and the chrome 17"s. Carfax looks good and its had 2 owners. I have a 2000 GS300 and a 01 IS300 and had a 03 IS300 so i'm pretty familiar with the inline 6 and what to look for but is there anything specific I should check out on the V8? Any thoughts or opinions would be great! Thanks

Well you got the carfax so thats the most important thing IMO.. Second you need to find out if the 90k sevice was done unless your planning on doing it yourself.. If not maybe u can haggle the price a little.. Besides that these cars are solid.. they maybe off on the price but not much.. Drive and visually inspect the car... GL...

Yea I think they are quite a ways off on the price. Nada shows the retail value at $10,800 so if they aren't willing to deal then ill pass on it.

I paid 8185 out the door for my 99 GS400 with 114k and only one owner. That's a bit much for a 98.

Default GS price

For sure look elsewhere, I picked up my one owner 02 GS430 for $7,100, granted I got lucky and the auction had no reserve and the car was in great shape just shows you what there is out there. Good luck to you.

The sales lady was being a jack *** and they wouldn't budge on $8900 so I left. The car was in ok shape. It would need new headlights, hood struts, front bumper repainted, center arm rest re upholstered, had a oil leak (plastic undercarriage around the oil plug was really wet), drivers side quarter panel had been repainted and the paint was chipped and starting to rust around the gas cap door, and the back drivers side door lock didn't work. So it was going to need some work and I offered $7000 and they didn't even counter offer so I walked.

yeah that car doesnt sound like a 10k car
7000 wouldnt probably get it from them but you can probably find one
I also say 8500 seemed like the price where it would have been a done deal
I think for a clean good condition one you are going to have to pay over 8k
Texas has some cheap cars though
