So i was bored today and decided to put some time on the GS. I have a new fuel filter, pcv valve and ngk iridium plugs for it. So i go to replace the plugs, which is no biggie since im on my 4th GS and i kind of have a hang on it now. I starter with the plug closest to the radiator and once i removed it, the plug was drenched in oil but not the tip only the threaded part. So i continued to the second plug and it was dry. Then the third one was wet and so on in exact order of wet dry on all 6 plugs. I also discovered that i have a small oil leak on my driveway maybe 2-3 drops per night. Any idear why 3 of my plugs were wet? Valve cover gasket maybe?
Edit: I just realized that the only plugs that were wet were the ones in relation to the spark plug wires and not the ones with the coils. This leads me to believe the seal on the spark plug wires is poopy and i need to buy new wires.
for now retight all the bolt to the gasket they may be worn out or sometime when you recap your oil..oil can spill down the cover over to the plugs that has happen to serve times
Yea I went ahead and ordered valve cover gaskets as well as ngk sparg plug wires, and all the timing belt components. Time to get to work on this thing.
Its got 91k I've had 3 GS's prior one of them with 160k and I've never seen oil when changing the plugs on any of them. I still haven't put the new plugs in I'm waiting for all the parts before I finish it.
