Wood grain faux, I bought the whole console and ashtray like that from a guy, it all matches pretty good and if u didn't know about our cars u would think it was real it looks great, ashtray is done also...

I am in the middle of re-covering the arm rest in my '00 GS300. I took a couple of pics. It's still got the clips on because it's still drying. What looks like blotches are shadows cast be the overhead chandelier. I think it came out ok. Although, there were a lot more than the 8 small and 4 medium screws that OP mentioned. Also, I've got the faux wood grain in my car. It doesn't look too bad either.

Mine came from Walmart. They are the black paper clicks from the office supply section. I bought a package of 200 of assorted sizes for about $8.

I did this DIY too. I bought the vinyl cover off eBay, followed the steps, and over a year later the vinyl cover still looks awesome!

Thank you for this! I bought one of these (spent the extra whopping 2 dollars on leather as opposed to vinyl) and have been procrastinating on installing it. Now that I see it isn't that involved, i think I'll do it while at work tomorrow lol.
