I saw a few in YouTube videos that people had traded in at Kia dealerships during the Cash for Clunkers program.

It was quite disappointing to see.

Exclamation should I buy a Lexus Gs 400?

My cousin is selling his 1999 Lexus Gs 400. The front suspension is bad and it needs the thing to pass emission test (carburetor I believe). He asking 2,000 as a family discount. I just need to know if it's worth it.

If everything except the front suspension and emmissions are bad, I'd say yes... $2k is cheap. You can pretty much purchase all new arms to refresh the front suspension for around $1K. As for the emissions, you should have the codes ran to find out what it is. Could be something as small as an O2 sensor needing to be replaced.

Still, family or not, I'd check the background (VIN/maintenance history) of the vehicle first. What seems cheap at first could possibly turn into a money pit.

Weird seeing a thread I posted here 4 years ago.

These cars don't have carbs, they are fuel injected. What front suspension parts? You can get basically everything new for a grand or so.
