Get your tranny better shoes.

This behavior, in my experience, is usually caused by low fluid. Have you checked the fluid level yet?

Isn't this normal behavior?
I thought I saw on here that this happens with most GS4's ?

Well mine does it when the car hasn't fully warmed up. If I don't warm it up even for 2 minutes then I pull off, it stays in 1st and the RPM's are well into the 2K's...

If I warm it up for longer than that, it shifts out of 1st a little hard. But after a few, it shifts smoothly.

Well those experiences mainly happen when outside is cold.

I have never noticed this. I don't doubt it though so I learned something new today.

My tranny fluid is full I think my mechanic put too much actually I think also cause I have a tranny cooler it runs too cold maybe that's what causing it to slip on cold runs

If your tech put in too much then the fluid will bubble up( aireate) and air will get into the veins in your valve body. are you sure there is too much?

When the GS is cold it starts off in 2nd gear. If you put it in the manual mode when its cold it wont go lower than 3 until it warms up. You might think the tranny is slipping but it just in a higher gear and seems slugish.

Same here, i installed new filter and flushed and filled with royal purple and same thing. Once its warm it shifts like butter.
