Default how do I 'reset' windshield wipers (that were in up position) after dead battery?

I turned my car off the other day with the windshield wiper in a slightly raised position (ie. not tucked under the hood). I didn't drive the car and then disconnected the battery to replace it. Now the wipers are stuck in that 1/8th 'up' position, but go through their normal range of motion.

How do I reset the wipers so they tuck down below the hood like before when off?

I'm pretty sure you just push both wipers down with equal force at the same time. It takes some force, but they should pop back down.

ok, I tried to push on them a little bit, but didn't want to break something that had some sort of motorized reset.

I may wait a few responses to confirm, then I'll go put some muscle in to it.

I did this recently on my 03 when replacing the wiper blades. To tuck them back down, apply downward force standing from the passenger side, putting most of the force on the passenger side wiper, and about a third of the force on the drivers side wiper. You wont have to use a ton of force, but it will "snap" into place. You cant really mess it up. GL!

cool, 'popped' them down into place. they really do just pop down after they reach the break over point. Thanks for giving me the advice to just use muscle... it's always hard to convince myself to go that route, lol.
