I understand the powerband is different, but I'm generalizing upon my experience from launching the car.

A friend of mine has a high stall in his GS400, you guys are right, it makes a huge difference...BUT he's running sticky 255's with no traction issues.

Are you running open diff still? That's a major issue too.

You're definitely right. Plus my Nexen N3000 are terrible! I am still open diff, but need to switch to LSD sometime soon. I'm guessing that makes a HUGE difference as well.

I have the 3.73 Supra TT (torsen) LSD. I currently have Bridgestone RE0760sports; supposedly they are decent tires as far as traction goes. Perhaps I need something more than decent. lol

Thanks for your insight.

keep in mind, you need to have traction on the main drive wheel for the diff to lock, that's the problem with torsens. plus it can only transfer 30% of torque to the non drive wheel. you need a real lsd, like an OS Giken.

RE760's arent really that great. You can get Kumho Xs's for cheaper and they have way better performance, super sticky too.

That's what I was thinking; nice tires for a normal DD; but I need something stickier/more aggressive. I think I am going to go with the Continental ExtremeContact DW, Hankook Ventus EVO V12 or Toyo T1R. I was thinking of the Michelin PS2's but they are much more expensive and wear much quicker; I can't have that...I will sacrifice SOME grip for a longer lifespan.
