Default Timing Belt parts

Hi everyone,

I just ordered some parts today through Sewell Lexus to change the timing belt on my 03 GS300 with 68,000 miles. I was wondering if someone can give me some opinion of whether I'm good with my list or I should do more. Thanks for any input.

Parts list:
1. timing belt kit (timing belt, water pump, idler, 3 O-rings)
2. timing belt tensioner
3. thermostat
4. thermostat O-ring
5. water pump gasket
6. water pump O-ring
7. water pump rear pipe gasket
8. serpentine belt

I'm also considering the pulley cam gears, if that is necessary. I want to get the HKS cam gear set. Is that a good upgrade?

Don't forget the coolant and radiator hoses.

Definitely do the cam and crank seals. I would only do the HKS cam gear is your plan on modding your engine as the benefit of the HKS cam is tuning capabilities. Otherwise it looks good.

Don't even mess with the seals UNLESS they leak. What do you need radiator hoses for? I didn't change mine and they are still in a great shape. Once again if you have extra money you want to drop into parts go ahead but it's not required. Dealership doesn't even change houses or seals unless they leak or are broken. That's just my 2c.

bighead222: All of those items cost me $405 shipped.

I'm not sure what are those 3 o-rings included in the timing belt kit. Are those the cam and crank seals? Is there any good in getting the HKS pulleys vs. stock ones if I don't mod my engine or is it money wasted?

I believe the o rings are for the water pump (inlet, bypass...)
