CEL Code: P0018
Hi guys,
I just got this CEL code: P0018 yesterday while driving home after getting my spark plugs, thermostat, coolant drain/refill, both radiator hoses, timing belt, water pump, idler bearing, tensioner bearing and accessory/serpentine belt done. Im not sure if it is related to the work that was done or just a coincidence. The CEL light didnt come on right away after the work was done. It came on about 50 miles & a couple of trips later that day right after I stopped to get some gas. The CEL, VSC and VSC OFF lights came on at the same time. I 1st thought it was related to the gas cap because it wasnt in limp mode and it was driving at 55-65mph ok.
I went to autozone the next day and their code reader gave me only 1 code even though I had CEL, VSC and VSC OFF lights on. The code reader gave me the following information:
P0018
Crankshaft position- camshaft position correlation
Bank 2 sensor "A"
Probable cause
1- Mechanical valve timing condition
2- Camshaft actuator condition
Does anyone know anything about this specific CEL code: P0018 and what does it affect specifically mechanically/performance-wise? What needs to be done to fix the issue? I tried searching the forums for this CEL code: P0018 but I couldn't find anything. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time and help.

I have the same code. P0018
Same here somtimes it goes by itself somtimes it pops on.
The car starts from the 1st attempt but somtimes it take 2 - 3 seconds to start.
No other issues i have faced in car power or when takin off. The rest works fine...
So i dono is it a failure sensor or need to do the adjustment or camshaft require seals or i dono wot else...
My car model is lexus ls430 2004 ultra luxury korean imported.

Get it back to the shop that did the work ASAP. It is a code for timing issues and you just had the timing system worked on. I'd say it's certainly related.
