Need help from you guys that are experts in this stuff.

I replaced my fuel filter the other day, and thought I put the pump back in the way it came out, but I did feel some odd twisting resistance, and had to twist the top of the pump assembly to get the screws lined up, seemed odd. I just noticed that my fuel gauge is STUCK - then I filled up with more gas, and it still didn't move. Is there a trick to putting the assembly back into the tank in the right way, especially with regard to the float???

remove the bolts and twist it around until the is no more pressure (the floater that is hanging). The floater should drop.
